We're seeking a detail-oriented, self-starting team player to assist in the production of a nationwide radio program and on-line music streaming service. The motivated intern will obtain skills and knowledge in digital audio production, public radio feature production, live music recording, customer service and social media. Duties include pre-editing interviews, interview research, archiving of audio files, production assistance for live performances, creating on-line music streams and interviews, maintaining databases and viral marketing. Also: helping in the sales of small online CD catalog including packaging and mailing retail orders, assisting in marketing projects, offering customer relations by answering phones and listener mail, general clerical work.

Skills required include accurate typing, basic database skills, online experience, computer proficiency, ability to work and meet deadlines on one's own, and interest in music. Experience with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel is required. Experience with Dreamweaver and other web applications preferred.

The ideal candidate will:

  • have good writing and editing skills
  • be able to take direction while also finding ways to contribute their own ideas
  • be able to work well in a small-staff environment, under pressure of daily deadlines
  • have self-starting initiative and be able to work on one's own
  • be willing and able to attend to details and routine work

It's a great opportunity to grow along with us, experiencing incredible music and musicians first hand, learning the creative world of public radio, music and webcasting.

Be sure you look at so you'll know what you're getting into.
