Echoes Playlist
Banshee in the Kitchen is a trio of women from Bakersfield, California who've gotten together to create their own take on Celtic music. They've released a few albums, the latest under the name of hammer dulcimer player Brenda Hunter is CATCHING THE MOONCOIN (Speirbhean Records). Flutist and accordionist Jill Egland and guitarist and bouzouki player Mary Tulin round out Banshee in the Kitchen, firing through traditional Celtic tunes, and Celtic inflected originals. We talk with the Banshees about Celtic music in the flatlands of Bakersfield.
