AMERICAN LANDSCAPES: AN ECHOES JULY FOURTH CELEBRATION WITH
A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH BELA FLECK AND EDGAR MEYER.
Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer are proponents of a sound that might be called Classical Americana. Edgar Meyer is a recipient of a MacArthur "Genius" grant for his virtuoso bass playing and rich compositions for orchestra. He's been on Echoes playing with the Appalachian Waltz trio of Mark O'Connor and Yo-Yo Ma and with violinist Joshua Bell. Bela Fleck is a virtuoso banjo picker whose fiery technique is at the base of a true fusion music, spanning genres from bluegrass to jazz to classical. The two musicians recently released Music for Two (Sony Classical).
