Echoes Playlist
Layne Redmond is a virtuoso frame drummer with a mystical, mythological bent. On this CD she creates nine hymns to the muses, basing many of her modes and concepts on the writings of Hymn to the Muse, written by Mesomedes of Crete in the second century A.D. Joined by bansuri flute player Steve Gorn (Drala, Glen Velez), violinist Vicki Richards, fellow frame drummer Tommy Brunjes and women singers and choir, her nine hymns form a serene, but rhythmically driven soundscape. It's our August CD of the Month on Echoes.
