Echoes Playlist
On her latest CD LUSCINIA'S LULLABY, Laurel MacDonald sings in Latin, Gaelic, English, and in a lighthearted vocalese that owes as much to the swinging 60's pop of the Swingle Singers as to the avant-garde of Meredith Monk. In their Toronto studio, MacDonald and her partner, producer Philip Strong, layer voices, rhythms and atmospheres to create soundtracks for modern dance and independent films. We talk to Laurel MacDonald, Philip Strong and Toronto Dance Theater choreographer Christopher House, about music and movement.
