INTERVIEWS AND CONCERTS FOR THE WEEK

Monday 09/14 and weekend of Sept. 19th
A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH DONNA DE LORY
Sacred chants and songs

Donna De Lory turns Hindi chants into spiritual pop songs. A back-up singer for Madonna and a gifted singer-songwriter in her own right, Donna De Lory takes Kirtan chants and brings an ecstatic pop sensibility to them on albums like The Lover and the Beloved and her most recent, Sanctuary. Donna brings her band into the Echoes Living Room to play her music live, including her enraptured cover of Joseph Arthur's "Under the Sun."

AN INTERVIEW WITH BANCO DE GAIA
20 years of ambient bliss

It was 20 years ago that Toby Marks and Andy Guthrie formed Banco De Gaia, an ambient oscillation that has fused techno and ethnic music, psychedelic moods and ambient designs. Only Toby Marks remains and he's just released a double CD called Memories, Dreams, Reflections that features covers of music that influenced him by Pink Floyd and King Crimson, classic Banco tracks revisited, and live performances. Toby Marks looks back at 20 years of edgy bliss.

A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH KEN BONFIELD
A finger-style road warrior

It's been about 10 years since Ken Bonfield's last Echoes appearance. Since then he's released a few albums and taken a music hiatus, but he's back now, creating music with Americana roots on his guitar. He has a new album called Whistlin' Past the Graveyard and he plays music from it live, on Echoes.
