ECHOES OCTOBER CD OF THE MONTH
SUMNER MCKANE: WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO BE
Sumner McKane creates an ambient americana anthem

The month of October brings us Autumn colors, a touch of nostalgia and a beautiful Echoes CD of the Month. It's from Maine's maestro of ambient Americana guitarscapes, Sumner McKane. McKane creates haunting, thoughtful music of country-tinged openness and interior moods on his most accomplished recordings to date. Hear music from this hidden gem of American music when we feature his new CD, What A Great Place to Be. It's the Echoes CD of the Month for October
.

Tuesday 10/07
AN INTERVIEW WITH JESSE COOK
Flamenco fusions and Dylan rhumbas

Jesse Cook was among a wave of flamenco inspired guitarists who came along in the wake of Ottmar Liebert's Nouveau Flamenco. But he's risen above the crowd with a combination of charismatic showmanship and melodically driven tunes. Jesse comes to the Echoes studio with his band to talk about life after children and turning a Bob Dylan tune into a Rhumba.

Friday 10/10
AN INTERVIEW WITH ALU
Macabre imagery reveals a dream world

Alu is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, who creates ambient soundscapes for her songs of lost innocence, cultural ennui and interior dialogues. With a voice that sounds like Kate Bush in a cabaret, Alu sings of casket salesmen, circus cosmos and buzzin' brains that populate her captivating fantasy stories. We talk about her sophomore album, Lobotomy Sessions.
