SONIC SEASONINGS 2008
LIVING ROOM CONCERTS FOR CHRISTMAS WITH LISA LYNNE & ARYEH FRANKFURTER, AINE MINOGUE, SUMNER MCKANE AND TIM FARRELL

From Celtic to psychedelic, we create an intimate evening of performances that tap into the spirit of Christians with concerts recorded from Maine to Southern California.

Windham Hill and New Earth Recording artist Lisa Lynne teams up with fellow Celtic harpist Aryeh Frankfurter for a set of exotic seasonal tunes playing Celtic harps, bandura, bouzouki and nyckleharpe.

Harps also figure prominently when the critically acclaimed Irish harpist and singer, Aine Minogue sits in a chamber ensemble playing Irish carols and original songs for the season. We take an Psychedelic Americana turn with Sumner McKane. His album What A Great Place To Be was the October CD of the Month on Echoes. With his ensemble, Sumner paints a Maine winter landscape in ambient guitar colors.

It's back to pure acoustic music with Tim Farrell. Billboard magazine said that "Farrell stands apart from the numerous acoustic guitar slingers out there." He'll deploy his intricate finger-style technique across original songs for the season and maybe even a carol or two. Sonic Seasonings, the way Christmas should sound.

AN INTERVIEW WITH FERNWOOD
Acoustic Americana world chamber music
Fernwood
is a group that's hard to pin down. They mix Americana elements with Appalachian strings along with bouzouki's from the Middle East and Ireland and sitars from India. Headed up by Todd Montgomery and Gayle Ellett who also plays guitar in the ultra-progressive rock band, Djam Karet, Fernwood creates a global chamber music with Americana accents and cinematically inclined melodies. Fernwood talks about music made on wooden instruments, on Echoes.
