Remember classic concept albums like Pink Floyd's DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, or Yes' TALES FROM TOPOGRAPHIC OCEANS? Washington state keyboardist Jeff Johnson and Irish flutist Brian Dunning harken back to those days with albums like Songs of Albion and Byzantium that use books as imagistic launch pads. Their latest CD is THE KATURRAN ODYSSEY (Hearts of Space), based on a graphic novel of the same name, illustrated by Terryl Whitlach who created many Star Wars creatures. Johnson & Dunning talk about their journey.
